Doctoral (PhD) dissertation defense of Oybek Sotvoldiyev, Head of the Translations Department of Imam Maturidi International Research Center, was held.

On May 18, 2023, at the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, the Head of the Translations Department of the Imam Maturidi International Research Center, Sotvoldiyev Oybek Khairullo ugli defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic “Muhammad bin Sa’d Zuhri’s "at-Tabaqat al-Kubra" is an important source on the history of Islam" which was conducted in historical sciences from the specialty of history and source studies of Islam to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree.

At the end of the defense, which was full of heated discussions, Sotvoldiev Oybek’s dissertation was positively evaluated by the members of the Scientific Council and warm opinions were expressed about the work.

The dissertation is considered one of the important studies in the field of history and source studies of Islam and serves as a basis for future scientific research in this direction.
