A MEETING WAS HELD BETWEEN THE CENTER AND THE SINGAPORE DELEGATION

On May 18, 2023, a delegation headed by Kasiviswanathan Shanmugam, Minister of Justice and Home Affairs of the Republic of Singapore, and the Zulkifli Baharuddin, Ambassador of this country to Uzbekistan, visited the Imam Maturidi International Scientific Research Center.

During the visit, negotiations were held between the leadership of the Center and the delegation of the Republic of Singapore on the further development of bilateral practical cooperation. On this occasion, Kasiviswanathan Shanmugam recognized the invaluable contribution of the great thinkers who grew up in the territory of Uzbekistan to the development of world science and civilization. He drew attention to the fact that Mawarannahr was one of the oldest cultural centers of the world, not only in the fields of Islamic sciences, but also in secular sciences.

Also, Kasiviswanathan Shanmugam got acquainted with the activities of the Center, including the main goals and tasks, the study and wide dissemination of the heritage of ancestors, and the results of scientific researches conducted on finding scientific and theoretical solutions to contemporary problems related to Islamic studies. In particular, the experience of the Center in the fight against terrorism and extremism, which has become a global problem today, and in refuting destructive ideas, was viewed with special interest. Kasiviswanathan Shanmugam highly appreciated the work being done by the Center in this regard and emphasized that in the future there is a strong need to establish an exchange of employees in order to exchange experience in this field.

During the negotiations, it was agreed to further strengthen cooperation between the Imam Maturidi International Scientific Research Center and research institutions in Singapore, including the establishment of staff exchange and the implementation of joint scientific projects aimed at researching issues related to contemporary Islamic studies.
