COMPETITION ON THE HERITAGE OF IMAM MATURIDI

The names of the winners of the competition on the legacy of Imam Maturidi held by Imam Maturidi International Scientific Research Center among the researchers of the Al-Azhar complex of the Arab Republic of Egypt have been announced.

It is worth noting that the competition aroused great interest among professors and teachers, students, and researchers of the al-Azhar complex. In particular, Dr. Nazir Ayyad, Secretary General of the Al-Azhar Islamic Academy, expressed the following thoughts about the competition: "The main purpose of the competition is to study the history of the emergence of the Maturidiyya doctrine, as well as the life and scientific heritage of Imam Maturidi and his followers, and to promote the Maturidiyya teachings widely to the international community. In particular, in the competition, special attention was paid to studying the Maturidiyya kalam school, its development stages, the scientific heritage of Maturidi scholars, rare manuscripts related to the teaching of Maturidiyya stored in world libraries, conveying the principles of tolerance and universal human values reflected in the doctrine to the general public, refuting the ideas of destructive groups operating under the guise of Islam, and forming a correct understanding and imagination of the true humanitarian nature of the Islamic religion in the world community".

The research submitted by the candidates for the competition was evaluated by a jury consisting of qualified staff of the al-Azhar complex. Al-Azhar University researchers Amal Uthman, Dr. Awwad Mahmoud Awwad Salem, and Dr. Muhammad Mish'al won prizes in the competition and got valuable gifts and a chance to travel to Uzbekistan.

It should be noted that this competition is an important event as it serves to further strengthen the close cooperation between the Arab Republic of Egypt and Uzbekistan in the scientific and cultural sphere.
