Relations between research centers in Uzbekistan and Al-Azhar Islamic Research Academy will be further developed

As we reported earlier, a delegation consisting of representatives of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, Imam Maturidi and Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Centers is currently in the Arab Republic of Egypt on an official visit.

On March 12, representatives of the delegation held a meeting with the General Secretary of Al-Azhar Islamic Research Academy, Dr. Nazir Ayyad, and discussed the prospects of further development of bilateral cooperation. In particular, Dr. Nazir Ayyad noted that the commonality of cultural values of the Egyptian and Uzbek peoples created the basis for the formation of strong friendship ties between the two countries, and that regular cooperation relations have been established in various fields, especially in the field of science. He also drew attention to the fact that the international competition held on the heritage of Imam Maturidi is important for the further study of the teachings of Maturidiyya and its wide promotion, and at the same time, it serves as a unique bridge in the establishment of cultural relations between Uzbekistan and Egypt.

In turn, the Director of the Center, Dr. Jamaluddin Karimov, thanked the General Secretary of the Al-Azhar Islamic Research Academy, Dr. Nazir Ayyad, for helping to hold the competition on the life and scientific heritage of Imam Maturidi at a high level.

During the negotiations, it was agreed on a number of issues, such as the organization of such competitions on a larger scale, the involvement of Al-Azhar researchers in the Center for research on the teachings of Maturidiyya, and the establishment of mutual personnel exchange.
